Thousands of children in Gaza City received a second dose of the polio vaccine this weekend, following a delayed vaccination effort due to intense Israeli bombardment and evacuations.
The vaccination campaign's second phase was originally scheduled for October 23 but was postponed due to safety concerns for health workers amidst ongoing conflict.
About 15,000 children under 10 in northern towns, where fighting has intensified, are unreachable during the vaccination campaign, raising concerns over its effectiveness.
As of Sunday, 58,604 children under 10 in northern Gaza have been vaccinated since the campaign's resumption, according to COGAT and the Gazan Health Ministry.
