Maryam detailed the massacre of her brothers, recalling: "They shot my five brothers, one after the other, my youngest brother called out to me, but they killed him."
The violence escalated as Maryam explained, "The militia tried to systematically kill all the males over 10... a 1-day-old boy was thrown to the ground and killed."
Reflecting on the assault, Maryam stated, "They raped many, many girls... When one man tried to rape me and failed, he beat me and I lost my baby."
