In the coming weeks, Maps will start lighting up the destination and entrance to it as you approach, so you (hopefully!) don't have to circle it three times in the dark.
Waze will be able to alert you if a camera is approaching and tell you what it's monitoring, whether it be speed, seat belts, or accurate carpool lane use. Waze will also notify you of traffic events and allow you to send alerts to friends.
Google Maps is also making it easier to report incidents by increasing the size of icons so users can share quickly and safely while on the go. Users can also confirm previously reported incidents after approaching them.
Waze is introducing navigation guidance even when the phone is locked, which will be launched globally on Android soon and on iOS in the fall.
