Walking through Alexanderplatz, overwhelming noise, smells, and crowds create tension for a neurodivergent child. The experience becomes even more challenging upon entering a sports store due to the rapid flickering of LED banners, which causes distress. Excessive motion and bright visuals in everyday digital interactions can transform simple tasks into overwhelming challenges, particularly for neurodivergent individuals. These design elements can inadvertently create environments that are difficult to navigate and endure.
In such situations, I recall Max Lucado's that the good father gives the child one responsibility: 'Hold on to my hand.'
