The Washington Post reports that, in the cease-and-desist letter sent to Sweeney, Taylor Swift's lawyers assert that Sweeney's social media activity has caused Swift 'direct and irreparable harm, as well as emotional and physical distress.'
We must not stigmatize research and its applications. We need to address the potential challenges of AI in a scientific and thoughtful way, without resorting to fear-mongering and knee-jerk bans.
