A fight to form the first union at an Amazon warehouse in Britain ended with organizers falling short by just 28 votes. Only 49.5% voted in favor, as more than 3,000 employees were eligible. This close result sparked accusations of heavy-handed tactics by Amazon to deter unionization.
GMB, a union, highlighted that Amazon has instilled fear among low-paid workers trying to improve their conditions. Stuart Richards from GMB mentioned that Amazon bosses have created a culture of fear within the workforce.
