vincent callebaut's residential tower inspired by DNA forms vertical forest in taipei
Briefly

Tao Zhu Yin Yuan, designed by Vincent Callebaut Architectures, embodies a double-helix structure that integrates green technology for carbon absorption and climate resilience, enhancing urban biodiversity.
With over 10,000 plants, each terrace rotates 4.5 degrees, transforming into private gardens. The project absorbs 130 tons of CO2 annually, acting as an urban air purifier.
The project’s name pays homage to Tao Zhu Gong, symbolizing wisdom and sustainability. Its design fosters a sustainable future while maximizing connections between natural and human spaces.
Designed with native trees suited for Taipei, the building draws in diverse fauna and reflects a commitment to biodiversity, creating an urban ecosystem amidst city living.
