Her late grandfather, Dr. Lincoln I. Diuguid, a Cornell PhD graduate and chemist, when confronted with the limited opportunities afforded to him as a Black professional, 'went to St. Louis, Missouri, and started his own business, Duiguid Chemical,' she says.
