Terrarium House / Unknown Surface Studio
"Amidst the restless energy of Bangkok's Ladprao district, Terrarium House sits quietly on a unique, ladle-shaped plot. With a narrow three-meter access road leading to a square site hemmed in by neighbors on all four sides, the land initially seemed landlocked. However, the design turns this constraint into its greatest asset, flipping the perspective to create an inward-looking sanctuarya private world entirely detached from the chaos outside."

Terrarium House occupies a ladle-shaped, square site in Bangkok's Ladprao district with only a narrow three-meter access road and neighbors on all four sides. The design embraces the constrained, landlocked conditions and reorients the house inward to form a private, terrarium-like sanctuary separated from surrounding urban chaos. The project area measures 450 m and is scheduled for completion in 2025. Photographs were taken by Rungkit Charoenwat. Manufactured products used include Lamptitude, Modernform, Siamtak, and Timbercharm. Lead architects are Cievanard Nattabowonphal, Piyanat Songkhorh, and Nonglak Boonsaeng. The design flips perspective to make the constraint its greatest asset, creating a secluded domestic world.
