'Swagger' - a fresh look at historic poseur portraits
Briefly

The Suffolk Collection at Kenwood House includes portraits of the Earls of Suffolk and Berkshire by William Larkin. Margaret Hyde, the 19th Century Countess of Suffolk, bequeathed these paintings. Stephen Farthing has created new artworks in response, exhibited in 'Strike a Pose' at Kenwood.
English Heritage curator Louise Cooling aims to encourage engagement with the lesser-known Suffolk Collection, highlighting William Larkin's significance in Jacobean portraiture. Farthing's contemporary responses offer a fresh perspective on historic art and portrait traditions.
