"Suddenly, You Step into the Landscape through the House": In Conversation with Ben Van Berkel of UNStudio
Briefly

The Möbius House, designed by Ben van Berkel and completed in 1998, emerged from the vision of a couple seeking a pioneering architectural statement in Naarden, Netherlands. After a five-year design journey characterized by multiple refinements, the house became a hallmark of UNStudio, quickly gaining recognition and integration into contemporary architecture discussions. The integration of living and working spaces, alongside the unique concrete and glass exterior, exemplifies a seamless relationship between functionality and aesthetic appeal, receiving global acclaim and featuring prominently in exhibitions, such as at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
I went to the site and studied it carefully and already had ideas about what I called the four quadrants of the landscape.
This architectural loop produces a continuity and integration of living and working areas.
