The museum has raised 86.5% of its $141m goal for an expansion project including a new pavilion named after Mark Rothko, connecting existing structures.
The Mark Rothko Pavilion will feature a new gallery for contemporary art, the institution's library, and a covered passageway for cyclists and pedestrians.
