The 'House in Piedade' project emphasizes efficiency, tailored design, and sustainability, situated in São Paulo's mountainous region. Covering about 1,500 square feet, it features two main blocks for essential living spaces, interconnected by a covered balcony that offers light and shelter from colder temperatures. Utilising cross-laminated timber for its construction allows for rapid assembly in under a week while minimizing environmental impact. The incorporation of translucent roofing not only protects but also enhances natural light within the space, showcasing a balance between practical utility and eco-friendly architecture.
