O4 House / studiokian
In dense suburban settings, privacy can conflict with openness and natural light. A house in Alam Sutera, Tangerang uses spatial sequencing to create retreat while maintaining connection to surroundings. The design is formed through moments of compression and release, where movement, proportion, and light guide daily experience. From the street, layered horizontal volumes and deep recesses soften the shift from exterior to interior. Vegetation integrated along the facade and upper edges makes the building feel more subdued within the residential streetscape. The facade avoids a single dominant gesture, instead creating depth through shadow, overhangs, and carefully framed openings.
