Mirchandani + Steinruecke's upcoming Delhi space aims to provide a larger platform for their artists. Co-founder Ranjana Steinruecke emphasized that six shows annually are no longer sufficient for their growing roster.
The decision to establish a second location was motivated by the opportunity to access a broader market in Delhi, where the buyer pool is larger and more engaged with contemporary art.
Steinruecke noted that while Delhi's art market is perceived as challenging, it offers significant potential for sustained engagement through various forums and institutions.
As the first Mumbai gallery to open an additional location outside of the city, Mirchandani + Steinruecke is setting a precedent amidst a trend of galleries expanding beyond their original cities.
