MAD Architects has created One River North as a stunning residential block that seamlessly blends urban architecture with natural elements, reflecting Denver’s geographic identity through its canyon-like design.
The building features a dramatic canyon-like opening that starts at the sixth floor, providing terraced outdoor spaces and an outdoor staircase that mimics the experience of hiking Colorado's mountainous trails.
The project emphasizes the connection between architecture and nature, as Jon Kontuly explains that the canyon details were designed to simulate the effects of natural erosion over time.
Inside, a massive boulder in the lobby serves as a tangible connection to Colorado's landscape, showcasing the architects’ commitment to designing an authentic and immersive environment.
