COMPLUVIUM by P + S Estudio de Arquitectura is a pavilion designed to embrace Rouen's rainy climate and forest surroundings. It features a semi-transparent skin made from linen and fiberglass that changes appearance with varying light. The architecture invites rainfall while providing an inward-focused experience, channeling water into a central void. Drawing inspiration from historical structures, the pavilion avoids utilitarian functions, emphasizing contemplation. Constructed from pinewood and reinforced fiberglass, it ensures durability while exploring light and perception in a harmonious landscape integration.
The pavilion's design centers around collecting rainwater rather than shielding from it, establishing a reflective interaction with its natural surroundings.
With its semi-transparent skin of linen and fiberglass, COMPLUVIUM creates a dynamic visual relationship between the structure and the forested landscape.
