lattice installation unfolds spatial archive of acapulco's urban history at venice biennale
Briefly

Acapulco: Selective Memories is an architectural installation by a|911 and Cadena Concepts showcased at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition. It responds to urban challenges caused by climate change through a double celosía structure that serves as both an archive and a framework. This project examines Acapulco's layered urban history while aligning with the Biennale's theme on architectural intelligence. By curating historical architectural references and materials, the installation aims to inform sustainable redevelopment approaches rather than nostalgic remembrances, addressing both ecological and economic vulnerabilities in the region.
The project engages the context of recent climate events by exploring how architectural intelligence can contribute to climate response and urban regeneration through a selective memory of Acapulco's history.
In the installation, a double celosía acts as both an archive and a framework, presenting urban documents and history as a future guide for resilient urban strategies.
