In Strachan's sculpture, the heroes of Africa and the African diaspora dine at a sumptuously laid table, with Emperor Haile Selassie taking the place of Christ and other prominent Black figures represented.
Strachan's work is not subtle, but as a Black artist, presenting a work in a space that has historically been unwelcoming to people of colour, perhaps subtlety was not appropriate.
