House of the Glade / Ignacio Correa
Briefly

Casa del Claro, located on the northern shore of Lake Rupanco in Chile, is a second home designed to harmonize with its glacial hillside site. Key to its conception was mapping the grove of Hazel trees to determine an appropriate construction position that enhances the landscape. The house is elongated along the southern edge of the property, contrasting with the forest's height while aligning living spaces with lake views. The plan includes a covered terrace separating living and sleeping areas while capturing sunlight, benefitting from the panoramic scenery of the lake and surrounding mountains.
The Casa del Claro is carefully designed to exist in harmony with its surroundings, ensuring minimal landscape interference while enhancing the natural beauty of Lake Rupanco.
Mapping the trees and understanding their placement was pivotal to site selection, allowing the construction to both respect the environment and provide stunning views.
