Grnningen-Bispeparken Climate Park / SLA
Briefly

Danish design studio SLA has revamped the outdoor spaces of Grønningen-Bispeparken, a 1950s social housing estate, turning unsafe lawns into a radical nature-based climate park. This innovative design aims to combat flooding and enhance social and ecological elements in the area. The park features interconnected bioswales that manage rainwater effectively and includes distinct nature typologies such as the Bio Oases for wildlife, communal spaces, and areas for recreation. A gravel and yellow tile path enhances accessibility, inviting residents to explore and engage with the park year-round.
The park blends climate adaptation with social value, featuring 18 bioswales that collect rainwater while creating engaging community spaces.
SLA's design incorporates five distinct nature typologies, emphasizing wildlife preservation and community engagement while also addressing flooding and stormwater management.
