Goodwood contemporary: Rachel Whiteread to headline new foundation's first exhibition at Sussex woodland site

The Pavilion Gallery will showcase Rachel Whiteread's photography and sculpture, alongside site-specific larger works, benefitting from a carefully designed natural environment.

'I am delighted to be the first artist profiled in the inaugural exhibition within the beautifully refurbished Pavilion Gallery and landscape of the new Goodwood Art Foundation,' Whiteread mentioned, emphasizing the significance of this integration of art and nature.

The foundation, set to open in May 2025, aims to provide a contemporary art destination that complements the myriad events attracting one million visitors annually.

'These photographs have formed an integral aspect of her working process but have mostly been visible only in publications,' said Ann Gallagher, highlighting the importance of Whiteread's photography.
