Glasgow International has no title-but it certainly has a point
Briefly

The catastrophic impact of conflict and the legacy of colonialism pervades much of this festival. Many of the city's wealthy merchants from the 18th and 19th centuries were involved in the slave trade. American artist Cameron Rowland's act of denying access to a cemetery with a chain and padlock carries significant symbolic weight.
Glasgow International's lack of an overarching theme allows for a strong and impactful edition, highlighting common concerns locally and globally in disused spaces like church halls, public libraries, and car parks alongside official galleries.
