geometric openings pierce elevated treehouse clad in charred cedar planks in hubei
Briefly

The Treehouse at the Lost Villa in Ginkgo Valley is designed by Moguang Studio to harmonize with its natural surroundings by preserving three ancient trees. Covering a 90 sqm plot, its geometric design prioritizes a decentralized layout while maintaining stability with lightweight steel and traditional materials like charred wood. The elevated structure takes advantage of ginkgo canopies for privacy, facilitating semi-outdoor activities on the ground floor. Innovative circulation is achieved through a central staircase that reorients movement within the landscape, enhancing the experience between the built space and nature.
The Treehouse's design intricately blends geometric forms with the forest, preserving ancient trees and creating a dynamic and harmonious living environment.
By elevating the treehouse, architects utilized the ginkgo canopies for privacy, resulting in a fluid connection between indoor spaces and outdoor nature.
