ECAL and alloyed turn lasered titanium into 3D printed watch straps at watches and wonders
Briefly

At Watches and Wonders 2024, ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne collaborated with Alloyed to exhibit 3D-printed watch straps designed by students from the Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship program.
The 3D-printed titanium watch straps, produced using Laser Powder Bed Fusion technique, feature flexible and futuristic designs with organic and uniform characteristics, showcasing high-performance mechanical properties.
Two notable designs include Emilie Seguin's Maille, which highlights individual craftsmanship for each link in the chain with gradual metamorphosis, and Alix Malamaire's Alligatoridae, aimed at simulating alligator leather strap textures through 3D modeling.
