Donavan House / PIMAA
Briefly

Nestled between the serenity of a pine forest, the project captures Comporta's landscape essence, reinterpreting local fishermen’s huts into a contemporary sanctuary.
Rather than clearing land, the cabins are placed within the natural voids of the trees, allowing the landscape to dictate the architecture.
A palette of natural materials—wood, cement, and plaster—grounds the design in honesty and simplicity, reflecting the ethos of 'truth to materials'.
The architecture consists of five distinct interconnected volumes, designed with functionality while minimizing disruption to the forest floor.
