OYO Architects has created DeDe House, a stunning 369 m2 home in Drongen that integrates contemporary design while honoring the beauty and history of its setting.
'We overlaid the original rectangular footprint of the barn with an additional cross section. This shape offers private spaces in and around the house while framing views on the outdoors.' This design philosophy emphasizes that a simple adjustment can lead to significant livability and ambiance.
The architects focused on adaptive design, making a space that is inclusive and responsive to how families, particularly those with children, use their environments.
By recycling original materials from the old barn, such as bricks, OYO not only crafts a new visual identity but also pays homage to the history of the site.
