CHYBIK + KRISTOF's 'forestry in the forest' to be czech republic's largest timber structure
Briefly

CHYBIK + KRISTOF's 'Forestry in the Forest' project aims to establish a sustainable architectural model in Central Europe through the largest wooden structure in the Czech Republic. Comprising five timber modules that house different departments, the design integrates functional courtyards and a central hall, fostering a connection with nature. The initiative aims to challenge regulatory barriers to timber construction by showcasing its efficiency and durability while advocating for the use of local resources to boost the economy and reduce carbon emissions.
The approach urges the country to capitalize on its own natural resources rather than exporting raw materials abroad in order to support the domestic economy while reducing carbon emissions linked to transportation.
Forestry in the Forest's structure then makes use of a combination of timber construction methods combined with a pragmatic yet functional program to demonstrate wood's capacity to deliver efficient, durable, and engaging design solutions.
