"Nestled between the sea and the hinterland, Pernambuco's Zona da Mata region is characterized by a humid tropical climate and the dense vegetation of the Atlantic Forest. Built upon this fertile soil, the architecture emerges from a poetic contrast, rejecting formulas and asserting that the Northeast reveals new nuances without boundaries, limits, or constraints."
"This linguistic diversity resonates with inventiveness and respect for tradition, a dialectic that defies predictability but establishes new paradigms."
Casa Branca is a 150 square meter architectural project completed in 2026, located in Pernambuco's Zona da Mata region between the sea and hinterland. The design emerges from the humid tropical climate and dense Atlantic Forest vegetation characteristic of the area. The architecture rejects conventional formulas and established boundaries, instead asserting that Northeast Brazilian architecture can reveal new nuances without predetermined constraints. The project embodies a dialectic between inventiveness and respect for tradition, establishing new paradigms that defy predictability. Materials from manufacturers including Alcoa, Celite, Lanxess Bayferrox, and others were incorporated into the design.
