Katie Nielsen transformed her dingy, windowless kitchen by replacing laminate countertops with faux concrete, installing peel-and-stick brick paneling, and painting old tiles, creating a cozy cottage feel.
Initially, I wanted white marble peel-and-stick for the countertops, but in such a small, windowless space, they just made it feel colder. I decided on a faux concrete vinyl instead.
The second attempt with the vinyl was much better. I took my time and was more careful; I was able to apply it without any air bubbles or peeling edges.
I used peel-and-stick flooring to cover old beige ceramic tiles that always looked dirty. The updated design really reflects my style, even though I can't paint the cabinets.
