Olen is a seven-suite luxury resort designed by Ateno Architecture Studio on the Greek island of Syros. Rather than imposing a bold structure on the untouched coastline, the architects embedded the building into the rocky hillside through careful terracing and subtle earthwork. The design uses retaining walls, gradual cuts into the terrain, and warm, earthy-toned render to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The resort is organized into three distinct zones—The Plane, The Line, and The Point—connected by a winding path that guides guests down the slope. This amphitheatre-like arrangement creates spaces that unfold gradually, with open terraces offering sea views while private rooms nestle deeper into the hillside, ensuring the natural landscape remains the focal point.
