The Necklace House, designed by 1110 Office for Architecture, serves as a dog-friendly rental villa on Awaji Island, thoughtfully embracing the region's rapid urbanization. The architects employed an 'ambiguity and ambivalence' philosophy to integrate the villa into its changing landscape. They created a unique courtyard layout that mitigates noise from surrounding roads while offering expansive views of the sea and mountains. The design features stepped floors and two private terraces, enhancing both humans' and pets' connection with nature, promoting a serene and adaptable living environment.
The Necklace House integrates design with nature, featuring a circular flow and terraces for both human and canine comfort, promoting a unique living experience.
Architects utilized a courtyard layout that acts as a buffer, balancing openness for views with privacy and tranquility, while integrating into Awaji Island's evolving landscape.
