1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair's Marrakech edition invites 'deeper engagement'
Briefly

The 1-54 Contemporary African Art fair will hold its sixth edition in Marrakech from 30 January to 2 February. Unlike its larger counterparts in New York and London, this fair aims to facilitate more significant connections between collectors and dealers. It is the only major fair dedicated to African art and its diaspora, with a focus on the African continent itself. Attendees include diverse galleries and collectors from African, European, and Middle Eastern regions, enhancing the event's cultural significance and outreach.
"Marrakech also holds, geographically, a very strategic position because it's a meeting point for African, European and Middle Eastern audiences."
The 1-54 Contemporary African Art fair is the only major fair dedicated to showcasing art from Africa and its diaspora.
This year, galleries taking part in the Marrakech fair for the first time include Galerie Farah Fakhri from Côte d'Ivoire, Hunna Art from Kuwait and Le Violon Bleu from Tunisia.
