Chief Technical Officer claimed Copilot was generally available in Fabric, but Microsoft press release indicated it was generally available in Power BI and in preview in other Fabric workloads.
Blog post from Microsoft VP contradicted claims, mentioning that various Copilot experiences in Power BI are still in preview, including features for Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Warehouse, and Real-Time Intelligence.
Analyst pointed out customer choice limitations in trialling AI tools, as Copilot in Fabric is enabled by default for eligible tenants with certain paid capacity levels, without the option to limit use during evaluation.
The setting to restrict Copilot use by capacity levels is anticipated but not yet implemented, leaving all preview features enabled for all customers without the ability to control usage.
