At the NFL League Meeting, Stephen Jones of the Dallas Cowboys announced that cornerback Trevon Diggs and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown are likely to miss the beginning of the 2025 season due to knee injuries. Diggs is recovering from complications following a previous ACL injury discovered during his treatment. Overshown, who had an impressive rookie season, faces a long rehabilitation from a severe knee injury suffered during the 2024 season. Both players are making progress in rehab, but their return to the field remains uncertain as they heal from their injuries.
Overshown had a breakout first season in the NFL in 2024 when he accounted for 90 tackles, eight tackles for loss and a highlight reel pick-six.
Both players continue to progress well in their rehab processes, despite the significant injuries they each have suffered.
The recovery for Overshown's second major knee injury is expected to carry well into the season, with November being a realistic target date.
Diggs is also rehabbing a major knee injury for the second offseason in a row, with a realistic expectation of beginning the season on PUP list.
