Cowboys vs. Eagles first quarter recap: Dallas down 14-0 early
"While the first moments seemed like things were going to click they quickly got tenuous as Dallas was facing a 4th and 3 from their midfield. Brian Schottenheimer went for it and Dak Prescott was unable to connect with Javonte Williams. Unfortunately the Eagles made good on the short field position as they marched down and capped it off with a touchdown from Jalen Hurts to AJ Brown."
"Kudos to the defense for stepping up when called up as they went out and made quick work of their next opportunity by forcing a punt. Unfortunately the Cowboys ran into the punter and got his plant leg so the personal foul gave Philly new life. Making matters all the more frustrating the Cowboys defense was called for an offsides when they had gotten the Eagles offense off of it once more."
The Eagles won the toss and deferred, leaving the Cowboys’ offense on the field first. Dallas faced a 4th-and-3 at midfield, went for it, and failed to connect to Javonte Williams. The Eagles converted the short field into a touchdown from Jalen Hurts to AJ Brown. Dallas went three-and-out on its next possession. The Cowboys’ defense forced a punt but was penalized for running into the punter, and a subsequent offsides penalty gave the Eagles another chance. The Eagles capitalized with a Jalen Hurts rushing touchdown, making the score 14-0 as the first quarter ended.
