The second season of X-Men '97 premieres on Disney+ on July 1. The mutant team is divided and thrown across an ancient past, the present, and a distant future while searching for a way back home. During the team’s absence in the 1990s, rising mutants take hold. The story continues from Season 1 and centers heavily on Apocalypse, whose reign spans from the start of his rule to the future at the height of his power. Rogue and Nightcrawler mourn what they have lost, while Rogue and Gambit face the consequences of earlier separations. The team’s mission is to unite and return to the 1990s, framed as a fight for everyone they lost. Nightcrawler affirms belief in the X-Men and standing together across time.
