PubKey occupies 12,000 square feet in Hill Country Barbecue's former Penn Quarter space and will open on December 15. The venue combines a bar with karaoke and trivia, a podcast studio, event space, and a steakhouse in the basement arriving in spring. The Bitcoin Policy Institute is subleasing space in the back, and this is PubKey's second location after New York. The concept aims to make Bitcoin approachable to curious newcomers while maintaining nonpartisanship and distinguishing Bitcoin from meme coins such as Dogecoin, Bonk, and $Trump.
