A German politician on Friday called for a temporary stop to flights between China and the European Union as the country battles a huge surge in COVID-19 infections.The comments, from Jurgen Hardt, of the center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU), came after the Asian economic powerhouse partially relaxed its strict zero-COVID policy as a result of growing public anger over lockdown and quarantine regimes.
