Our study presents a nuanced view of global health achievements, highlighting progress in preventing deaths from some major causes like diarrhea and stroke, alongside the setback caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The study, tracking 288 causes of death in numerous countries, compared deaths from COVID-19 to other causes, showing progress in preventing deaths for most top causes except Alzheimer's disease, other dementias, and malaria.
