"born in Traverse City Mich now in Chattanooga, TN Today is a rainy, cloudy day, and 30 degrees cooler than it has been. Just the kind of day ya want a nice hot mug of soup. I came up with this yummy tomato soup. I served this with cheese crackers. 2 quarts fresh tomatoes, chopped 1/2 tablespoon seasoned salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt 2 bay leaves fresh ground pepper, to taste"
"2 1/2 cups 1% milk salt, if needed Put tomatoes and spices in a medium-sized soup pot. Turn on high to bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn to a low simmer and cook for about an hour. Now, remove the bay leaves. Put tomatoes in a food processor. Mix until smooth. It may need to be done in 2 batches. Return to the soup pot. Bring back to a boil. Add more salt and pepper if needed."
Born in Traverse City, Mich. and now in Chattanooga, TN. A rainy, cloudy day that is thirty degrees cooler calls for a hot mug of soup. Fresh tomato soup uses two quarts chopped tomatoes, seasoned salt, garlic salt, bay leaves, fresh ground pepper, and 2 1/2 cups 1% milk. Tomatoes and spices are boiled, then reduced to a low simmer for about an hour. Bay leaves are removed and tomatoes are processed until smooth, then returned to the pot and brought to a boil. Salt and pepper are adjusted to taste. Serve hot with cheese crackers.
