Stow, Massachusetts will temporarily rename itself 'Dunkin'' on July 24 to celebrate the grand opening of a new franchise location on Great Road. The town has been without a Dunkin' for a year following the closure of two branches in 2022. Franchisees Megan and Mark Pesce aim to maintain the historic feel of the new site. Dunkin's field marketing team described the renaming as a playful nod to Stow's 'Dunkin' desert' reputation. The grand opening event will include various activities, free coffee, and a donation to the local food pantry.
The Massachusetts town will rename itself 'Dunkin'' for a day July 24 to celebrate the opening of a new location on Great Road and the end of Stow's Dunkin' drought.
As soon as we heard that the two stores in Stow consecutively closed, we said, 'We need to fix that,' said Dunkin' franchisee Megan Pesce.
Grace Kirkman said temporarily renaming the town is a 'fun and different' way to celebrate the opening and poke fun at Stow's 'Dunkin' desert' reputation.
The grand opening will also feature a ribbon cutting, 100 days of free coffee for the first 100 Dunkin' Rewards members in line, and a $5,000 check to the Stow Food Pantry.
