Cafe On-Site (Kai-Chang) occupies 140 m² in a small town in Zhejiang, China and completed in 2025. The cafe is conceived as a field of energy for neighborhoods and prioritizes human gathering and interaction. The program serves locally inspired signature coffee and food while exploring how energy flows, accumulates, and connects within a spatial setting. The design process was developed holistically to encompass brand strategy, naming, visual identity, and interior design. The team included Yumeng Zhu with aptdotapt and designers Jinrui Zhang, Leanne Letong Meng, and Zheye Cai, with façade consultancy and manufacturing input from I/O Project and others.
