Kyle Tucker says he is open to long-term deal with Cubs after trade from Astros

Kyle Tucker expressed his excitement about playing at Wrigley Field on the visiting side, stating, 'Those fans love their Cubs. That's kind of how it felt from, you know, the visiting side.'

Jed Hoyer emphasized the value Tucker brings to the Cubs, noting, 'We have a lot of really good players on the team. We're very balanced. But it did feel like we lacked, that kind of, consolidation of wins above replacement, I would say, on our roster in one player.'

The Cubs made a significant trade to acquire Tucker, sending out three players, with Hoyer acknowledging that it was worth it for someone considered 'one of the best players in baseball, period.'

With the acquisition of Tucker, the Cubs subsequently traded Cody Bellinger to the Yankees, highlighting adaptations in roster management to accommodate a surplus of outfielders.
