Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in Marvel projects, expressed frustration over an alleged offer from Disney for a second season of the 'Hawkeye' series. He claimed that the company offered him half the pay he received for the first season, calling it an 'insult offer'. Citing the need to defend himself, Renner emphasized that he did not ask for a raise but simply expected the same compensation. Despite the disappointing negotiations, he remains fond of the character and is satisfied with the decision to step back for now, valuing his health and well-being.
They asked me to do a season two, and they offered me half the money. And I'm like, wow. It's going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money.
And this is not Marvel, mind you, this is just Disney - not even really Disney, it's just the penny pinchers, the accountants. I told them to go fly a kite.
I didn't ask for any more money, mind you. It's just 'pay me what I made the first season.' So it's a little disheartening that that didn't happen.
I'm happy to let that go because my body's probably thanking me, time and time again, that I'm not doing it right now.
