"We're proud that through this development we can help bring another beloved Illinois business to this neighborhood and its residents," Taylor Hourihan, Vienna Beef's vice president of marketing said in a statement.
"Construction on the remaining parts of the plaza is well underway, and we continue discussions with other prospective tenants," Hourihan added, indicating the project's ongoing progress.
Vienna hasn’t said if the reborn restaurant will serve new offerings or maintain the status quo, stirring curiosity among locals about potential changes.
The Vienna Beef factory relocated from Bucktown in 2015 and moved to the South Side in Bridgeport, which adds historical significance to the plaza's development.
