Tutore Italian Cooking School in Avondale, which opened in April 2023, will close by the end of June. Co-owner Dean Zanella cites a desire for better work-life balance as the primary reason for the closure, despite the school's success and popularity among students. Zanella, along with chef James De Marte and pastry chef Mollie Mettelka, had established Tutore as a culinary space that offered more than typical Italian-American fare. The team will support a smooth transition to a new operator by July 1 and announce any final classes through their social media platforms.
Zanella states he wants to spend more time with his family, leading to the decision to close Tutore Italian Cooking School, which had been successful.
Despite 'printing money,' Zanella struggled with work-life balance and weekend demands with young daughters, prompting the closure of Tutore.
