Going to a dive bar in the winter in Chicago is a magical experience, it's Midwestern tiki, giving customers an escape from the cold with sticky floors, cheap drinks, and reliable heat from a space heater - or furnace, if you're fancy.
Heisler Hospitality knows a thing or two about bars as the Chicago company is behind hits like Sportsman's Club, Estereo, and Queen Mary. Heisler has shown mastery in catering to a diverse crowd.
It wasn't time to give up. West Loop remains one of the hottest areas in the city. On Friday, December 6, Heisler opened Broken Hearts at 1009 W. Lake Street.
Broken Heart's name is a nod to local hero John Prine. Prine's song Souvernirs contains the lyrics 'broken hearts and dirty windows.' They'll keep the drinks selections simple with shot and beer combos.
