The Earlybirds Club, co-founded by Laura Baginski and Susie Lee in Chicago, offers evening dance parties for women and trans/non-binary individuals eager to unwind after a busy day. With an 80s, 90s, and early 2000s music theme, the club has quickly gained traction, spreading its influence across the country in less than a year. Their success reflects an important cultural need for joy among those juggling responsibilities, particularly women in their 40s and 50s. Significant community interest has propelled the club’s expansion, making it a sought-after experience in cities nationwide and internationally.
It’s important for us to remember to create joy for ourselves because in this age group, we don’t do that, said co-founder Susie Lee.
By their 40s and 50s, many women are caretakers for others. It’s an experience that, especially in these times, feels so necessary and therapeutic, said Laura Baginski.
Cis men are politely asked to just stay away, allowing a space for women and trans and non-binary individuals to thrive.
Just a year after launching, the Earlybirds Club is already touring nationally, reflecting a strong demand for community gatherings focused on joy and nostalgia.
