As rain hits Midwest, Chicago in for a "blustery and dreary" weekend
Briefly

The NWS expects rain to start around 10 a.m. Saturday. Rain will continue through Saturday night as temperatures drop, according to the National Weather Service. Storms are expected to abate by midnight but could start up again as early as 9 a.m. Sunday. Look out for possible snow late Sunday night into early Monday in south Chicago and northwest Indiana as cold air moves across Lake Michigan. As slushy winter weather settles over the city, boaters beware. Waves as high as 15 feet are expected on Lake Michigan due to Northwest winds. The hazardous waves are expected to appear Sunday night through Monday morning, impacting visibility and making the lake unsafe to travel by boat. Ports from Winthrop Harbor, north near Wisconsin, to Calumet Harbor near Indiana, will be impacted.
